Solar, storage & EV charging — all of Northern Ireland

Cut your electricity bill with solar built to last.

Solarlink designs and installs solar PV, battery storage and EV charging for homes and businesses across Northern Ireland — from the first survey to the final switch-on. You deal with the person doing the work, not a call centre.

  • Free, no-obligation home survey
  • Design, install and NIE Networks paperwork handled
  • RECC member and CTSI Approved Code

What we do

One team, the whole system.

Most installers hand you between a salesperson, a scaffolder and an electrician. Here you deal with the person doing the work.

Solar PV

Roof-mounted arrays sized around how you actually use electricity — not around the biggest system we could sell you.

Battery storage

Store what you generate during the day and use it at night, instead of exporting it for pennies.

EV chargers

Home charge points wired to work alongside your solar, so the car fills up on your own generation where it can.

Service & repairs

Fault-finding, inverter replacements and maintenance — including systems that somebody else installed.

Why bother

Northern Ireland gets more out of solar than you'd think.

Solar panels run on daylight, not heat — which is why they work perfectly well here. A typical NI home offsets a serious chunk of its annual electricity use, and with a battery you keep the benefit long after the sun has gone down.

We handle the system design, the NIE Networks connection application and the sign-off. The only thing you have to do is decide whether the numbers stack up.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises.

  1. 01

    Survey

We look at your roof, your fuse board and your meter, and check what your supply can take. Free, and there's no obligation.

  2. 02

    Design & quote

You get a proper system design with expected generation and a fixed price — not a "from" price that changes on the day.

  3. 03

    Install

Panels, inverter, battery and all the wiring, fitted by our own team.

  4. 04

    Switch on & support

We commission the system, walk you through the app, submit the grid paperwork and stay on the end of the phone.

Questions

The things everyone asks.

Do solar panels actually work in Northern Ireland?

Yes. Panels generate from daylight rather than direct heat, so they produce power on overcast days too. Output is lower in December than in June, which is exactly why we size the system around your year-round usage.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your roof, the number of panels and whether you add a battery. You'll get a fixed written price after the survey, and no deposit is taken until you've seen it.

Do I need planning permission?

For most domestic roof installations in Northern Ireland, no — they fall under permitted development. Listed buildings and conservation areas are the usual exceptions, and we'll flag it at survey stage if it applies to you.

How long does the install take?

Installs are fitted and commissioned within a single day. Larger arrays, or jobs that need scaffolding, can run to two.

What happens to the power I don't use?

With a battery you store it and use it later. Without one it's exported to the grid — export arrangements in Northern Ireland run through your electricity supplier, and we'll talk you through the current options at survey stage.

Do you cover my area?

We cover all of Northern Ireland — all six counties, town and country.
